A Commitment Rooted in Sustainability

This includes Wrangler’s long-standing commitment to advancing responsible supply chains to protecting land, resources and workers. Better still, Wrangler has channeled these priorities into finished products that consumers support and enjoy wearing.
Wrangler’s Rooted Collection has proven how beneficial working from the ground up can be. This premium line of apparel is made from 100 percent sustainable, local cotton with five state-specific jeans that represent the locations from which they are sourced. Each item is truly American—grown, milled, cut and sewn in the U.S.—and fully traceable to an American family farm whose future Wrangler aims to advance.
The same farms supplying the Rooted Collection’s cotton are also among the first growers in the Wrangler Science and Conservation program—an initiative promoting land stewardship and soil health. Best practices derived from science-backed methods build crop resilience to weather disruptions and improve farmers’ yields. At the same time, these methods are fighting erosion, lowering greenhouse gas emissions and reducing farmers’ energy and water use.
For years, Wrangler has maintained this focus on soil health, traceability and sustainability. As a testament to the steps already being taken, the brand has set a number of goals that are as ambitious as they are important. These include:
- 5 billion liters of water conserved by 2020;
- 100 percent preferred chemistry throughout the Wrangler supply chain by 2020;
- 100 percent renewable energy powering all owned and operated facilities by 2025; and
- 100 percent sustainable cotton by 2025.
It matters to Wrangler what’s in its clothing.
