Lee® High Rise Flare Jean Puts a Modern Spin on a Classic Design

Since it was introduced last fall, Lee’s Vintage Modern Flare Jean has been steadily growing in popularity. Drawing inspiration from the Lee archives with a modern update, the design has clearly resonated with today’s consumer.

We caught up with Whitney Neary, Lee’s Global Product Director, to share a few of the design details that went into the creation of this jean.

• We wanted to find a way to bring as much ‘Lee Spirit’ as possible into the product. The iconic Lee features do a lot of the talking, but the wash and the print needed to work hard as well.
• The inspiration for the flare jean comes from a 70s collection called Leesures by Lee, which featured leisure suits and bold patterns. We repurposed the idea with a modern twist.
• It’s flattering on many shapes and sizes, which is why the flare jean has become one of our top performers in the Vintage Modern Collection.
• The plaid herringbone print is on-trend and a fun alternative to a washed pair of denim.
